How rates are collected

A scraper reads each portal’s public category pages / sitemaps / no-key endpoints with a browser user-agent, a delay between requests, and an on-disk cache. It only requests paths permitted by each site’s robots.txt and never the disallowed click / redirect / search / API paths. Store identity is resolved across portals by domain where available, otherwise by a normalized store name (so some cross-portal matches are approximate). Rewards are stored in native units; points and miles are converted to an effective cash-back figure using a valuation you set. This is a prototype for demonstration, not a commercial service.

Not in this prototype. Three airline malls (United MileagePlus Shopping, AAdvantage eShopping, Delta SkyMiles Shopping) run on the Cartera platform whose only clean data path repurposes an API key embedded in the site’s own front end; those are deliberately excluded. Southwest Rapid Rewards Shopping is included because its rates are available from public server-rendered HTML with no key. The miles-to-cents normalization already supports adding the others through a compliant source.
